Born November 23, 1921, in Arcadia, Iowa she was the daughter of Harry William and Agnes Catherine (Hagge) Frank. She married Lowell Henry Bauer on May 25, 1944, in San Diego, California. He died June 7, 1995.
Marge was a graduate of Arcadia High School and earned her teaching certificate at the Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls. Before her marriage, she was a rural school teacher in the same school she attended as a child in Carroll County, Iowa.

She, along with her son, are the only ones in the family that travelled the entire Mississippi River on the American and Mississippi Queen riverboats. Survivors include her four children; Beverly (Harlan) Hatch of Huntington Beach, California, Arlys Cecconi of Yorktown, Virginia, Carleen (Ron) Nollen of Burlington and David (Lori) Bauer of Lewisville, Texas; six grandsons, Joel Walker of Davenport, Quinn Bauer and Pierce Bauer both of Lewisville, Texas, Aaron (Melissa) Hatch of Las Vegas, Nevada and David and Matthew Hatch of California; one great-grandson Wyatt Hatch; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, two brothers and son-in-law, Tony Cecconi.
A memorial has been established for the Kayla Atkins Foundation.

Arlys, Reading over your Mother's brief history, I can see where you get your extraordinary interest in people, things to do, and places to see. May the memories of the good times she shared with you bring a smile to your face and a song to your heart when you need it most.

I didn’t know Marge super well, but I loved watching her and Dave joke back and forth. He would say something funny and she would give it right back to him as quick as you could blink! She will be greatly missed!

I only had the pleasure of being with Marge twice but I feel like I knew her for years. I we had the greatest time when she & Lowell visited us with Lori & David. We went to the dog race track & had the best time. My sister has always said Marge was the greatest mother-in-law. She lived a great life I think & was dearly loved. Prayers to the entire family.

I have such wonderful memories of Marge when she visited California. Beverly and I enjoyed having tea at a lovely teahouse and just spending time with her at the Hatch home. She was a gracious lady, and simply stated - she was fun to spend time with. I will miss those wonderful warm visits. Marge leaves an amazing family of loving children, grandchildren, and a great grandson - she has left the world a better place. Marge will be missed and the memories of her cherished.
Much love, Helen and the Tvelia family
