        Wood.
      -Interment: Aspen Grove Cemetery, Burlington, Iowa
        A Memorial has been established for Klein Center Alzheimer's Unit of Great River
        Medical Center.

Phillip Grant Wood, 85, of Burlington, Iowa, died at 1:05 p.m. Friday, September 21, 2007, at Great River Medical Center – Klein Center in Burlington.

            Born December 31, 1921 in Centerville, Iowa, he was the son of George W. and Lucille Jane Wells Wood.  On December 16, 1946 he married Dortha Beatrice Sweeden in Centerville.

            Mr. Wood attended Centerville High School.  He was an Army Veteran of World War II serving from October of 1939 until January of 1946 and achieving the rank of technical sergeant.

He was a traffic control operator for Burlington Northern Railroad for 33 years.

            Survivors include his wife, Dortha Wood of Burlington; two sons, Craig Edward Wood of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Steven Wayne Wood of Flagler Beach, Florida; two daughters, Paula Faye Mehaffy and Peggy Ann Wilkinson both of Burlington.

            His parents and sister preceded him in death.
