Robert “Bob” D. Wilson, 77, of
Burlington, Iowa died at 9:14 a.m. Sunday,
September 30, 2007, at Great River Medical
Center – Klein Center.
Born May 23, 1930 in Orfordville,
Wisconsin, he was the son of Charles Francis and
Lola Verne McCaslin Wilson. On July 13, 1968,
he married Judith Ann Wykert in Lancaster,
Wisconsin.
Mr. Wilson was a 1948 graduate of
Lancaster High School. He was a Korean War
veteran serving from November 1949 until January
1, 1953 and achieving the rank of Staff
Sergeant.
Mr. Wilson was District Manager
of AAA of Iowa for 12 years. He was a member of
Calvary Baptist Church, VFW and American
Legion. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, playing
pool, ping-pong, traveling and going to Cloud 9
Ranch. He loved his family and enjoyed spending
time with his dog, Woodrow Wilson.
Survivors include his wife,
Judith Ann Wilson of Burlington; four daughters,
Rita D. (Syed) Abbas of Burlington, Audra D.
(Denver) Kassebaum of Missouri, Heather A.
Wilson and fiancé Jeff Koch of Troy, Missouri
and Holly L. (Tim) Merryman of Burlington; eight
grandchildren, Lea Abbas, Kaniz Abbas, Alicia
Keenan, Alishah Abbas, Ali Abbas, Faith
Kassebaum, Hope Kassebaum and Joy Kassebaum; one
brother, David E. Wilson of Spring Lake Park,
Minnesota; and one sister, Rosemary L. Chance of
St. Paul, Minnesota.
His parents preceded him in death.
A memorial has been established.
