       Riverview Baptist Church, 405 Main Street, New Eagle, Pennsylvania 15067.

                       

           Katheryn “Katie” Louise Sliger of New Eagle, Pennsylvania formerly of Burlington and West Burlington, went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 28, 2008 in New Eagle.

            Born February 15, 1919 in Burlington, she was the daughter of Walter and Julia Koenig Goetz.  On August 20, 1936 she married Lee I. Sliger in Burlington.  They were married almost 63 years before he passed away August 14, 1999.

            Mrs. Sliger worked at the Burlington Biscuit Company, Burlington Instrument Company, Iowa Ordnance Plant and Sweet Heart Surplus Baker.

            She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Burlington.  She and her husband taught Sunday school several years.  After moving to New Eagle to live with her daughter, she attended Riverview Baptist Church.

            Survivors are one daughter, Judith Seraly of New Eagle whom she made her home with since May 30, 2000; one brother, Donald Goetz and wife Jean of Tipton; one special daughter-in-law, Jackie Sliger of Boise, Idaho; five grandchildren, Anthony “Tony” Seraly of Monongahela, Pennsylvania, David Seraly of Scenery Hill, Pennsylvania, Julie Nicholas of New Eagle, Pennsylvania, and Byron and Darrin Sliger both of Boise, Idaho; six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

            Deceased in addition to her parents and husband is a son, Larry Sliger, two brothers, Robert and Kenneth Goetz and one sister, Dorothy Doemland.

           Memorials have been established for Bethany Lutheran Church in Burlington and Riverview Baptist Church, 405 Main St., New Eagle, PA  15067.
