            Richard “Dick” Ray Reeder, 73, of Burlington, died at 6:50 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2008, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

            Born December 26, 1934 in Tipton, Iowa, he was the son of Donald G. and Gladys R. Wells Reeder.  On July 24, 1955 he married Beverly Kautz in Tipton.

            Mr. Reeder was a 1953 graduate of Tipton Consolidated Schools and attended Parsons College on a basketball scholarship and University of Iowa Business School.

            He was a State Bank Examiner and then worked as vice president at Lee County Bank in Fort Madison, retiring 1996.

            Mr. Reeder was a member of First United Methodist Church, and a former member of Lions Club and I  Club with University of Iowa.  He was an avid Hawkeye sports fan.

            Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Beverly Reeder of Burlington; three daughters, Terri Smith of Naperville, Illinois, Kris (Bill Jr.) Wilke of Burlington and April (John) Beckfield of Cedar Rapids; two grandchildren, Evan Ramsey and Megan Beckfield; and one brother, Wayne (Mary) Reeder of Grand Junction, Colorado.

            His parents and one half sister Dalene Burhop preceded him in death.

            According to Mr. Reeder’s wishes, his body will be cremated following the funeral service.
