Catherine Joanne Pfeiff, 74, of West Burlington died at 6:25 a.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2008, at Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.

            Born October 12, 1933 in Fairfield, Iowa, she was the daughter of Paul Maxwell and Claudean  Phillips.  On September 5, 1955 she married Rodney L. Pfeiff in Fairfield.

            Mrs. Pfeiff was a 1951 graduate of Fairfield High School.  She worked at IRC, I.A.A.P. and Ace Enterprise, retiring in 1995.

            She enjoyed working in the yard, crossword puzzles, solitaire and was a volunteer at West Burlington Elementary Schools.

            Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Rodney L. Pfeiff of West Burlington; one son, Stuart Pfeiff of Nevada City, California; two daughters, Lori Campbell of West Burlington and Chris Pfeiff of Warsaw, Illinois; four grandchildren, Jamie Zang, Aaron Sistko, Nicole Duke and Colton Campbelll; two great grandchildren, Sayge Zang and Liliyan Zang; and one sister, Maxine Heston of Omaha, Nebraska.

            One daughter, Lisa Duke, and her parents preceded her in death.
