Jean Lucille Dean, 79, of Danville, died Saturday, December 15, 2007 at
Great River Medical Center Klein’s Center.
Born November 24, 1928
in Des Moines County, she was the daughter of Joseph Grinstead and Laura
Thomes Grinstead Sams. On October 30, 1948 she married Grant Gordon
Dean in Burlington. He preceded her in death on September 9, 1994.
Mrs. Dean was a
homemaker and also co-owned and operated Dean’s Conoco in Danville along
with her husband. She was a 1948 graduate of Danville High School.
She was a member of Danville United Methodist Church.
Survivors include, two
sons, Stanley (Marianne) Dean and Patrick (Donna) Dean both of Danville;
one daughter, Brenda (Jeff) Gearhart of Burlington, seven grandchildren,
nine great-grandchildren; and five sisters, Delora Grinstead and Lois
Osborne both of Burlington; Doris Jones of Boonesville, Arkansas; JoAnn
Bjorge of Osage Beach, Missouri; and Mary Alice Deck of Marshall,
Missouri.
Besides her husband she
was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Ray “Dee”
Grinstead and Dale Grinstead.
Memorials have been established for Southeast Iowa Dialysis
Unit and Danville United Methodist Church. |
