Patricia “Pat” Ann Carman, 67, of Burlington, Iowa
died at 5:02 p.m. Monday, February 12, 2007, at Great River Medical
Center.
Born
March 16, 1939 in Burlington, she was the daughter of Louis and Virginia
Springsteen Coen. On May 28, 1960 she married Glen Carman in St.
Patrick’s Catholic Church in Burlington.
Mrs.
Carman was a 1957 graduate of St. Paul’s Catholic High School. She
worked in production at Sylvania and then was a clerk in the Des Moines
County Court House before her children were born. She was a homemaker
and mother and as her children grew older, she worked as a kindergarten
aid at St. Paul’s Catholic School.
She was a
member of SS Mary and Patrick Catholic Church. She enjoyed visiting
with friends and family, playing cards, traveling and spending time with
her grandchildren.
Survivors
include her husband of 46 years, Glen Carman of Burlington; three
daughters, Jane (Jeff) Loxterkamp of Hampden, Maine, Mary (Robert) Tobin
of Solon, Iowa and Susan (Christopher) Goble of New Windsor, Illinois;
one son, Mark (Suzie) Carman of Burlington; seven grandchildren, Tony
Connelly, Angela (Eric) Beardsley, Emily Carman, Lizzy Loxterkamp,
Thomas Tobin, Nicholas Tobin and Ellie Goble; two great grandchildren,
Kelsie Beardsley and Parker Beardsley; her parents, Louis and Virginia
Coen of Burlington; two brothers, Robert (Goldie) Coen of Burlington and
Tom Coen of Clatskanie, Oregon; one sister, Judy (Jim) Abrisz of
Houston, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
