Anna
Marie Calhoun, 95, of Burlington and formerly of
Bonaparte and Denmark died Friday, October 19,
2007, at Burlington Care Center.
Born June 14, 1912 in Cairo, she
was the daughter of James Lloyd and Helena K.
Spaeth Brown. In September 1933 she married
Clarence Andrew Calhoun in Muscatine. He
preceded her in death on August 19, 1965.
Mrs. Calhoun attended school in
Columbus Junction. She was a homemaker, worked
in housekeeping for Mt. Pleasant Mental Health
and also was a babysitter. She was of the
Methodist faith.
Mrs. Calhoun enjoyed sewing and
made lap blankets.
Survivors include four daughters,
Kathryn Anderson of New London, Patricia
Stansbury of Union and Marjorie Titus and Betty
Kirgan both of Burlington; 16 grandchildren;
numerous great and great-great grandchildren;
and two sisters, Elva Jenks of Monmouth,
Illinois and Darlene Applegate of West
Lafayette, Indiana.
Her husband, parents, four
brothers and four sisters preceded her in death.
