Harold Leroy Breuer, 82, of West Burlington died at 10:05 AM Wednesday, October 12, 2005, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.

Born January 7, 1923, in Des Moines County, he was the son of Martin Carl and Nellie Lakey Breuer.  After the death of his parents, he was raised by his aunt and uncle, Arthur and Etta Breuer.  On November 17, 1943, he married Gertrude "Arline" Ebert in Burlington. 

For 38 years, Mr. Breuer was a tool and die foreman for J.I.Case Co, retiring in 1983. 

He was a 1941 graduate of Burlington High School.  He was a World War II and Korean War Army Air Corps veteran.  He was of the Protestant faith.  H was a ember of American Legion and Eagles Club.  H enjoyed gardening, collecting and watching trains, trout fishing in Colorado and reading.

Survivors include his wife and one daughter, Lynda Breuer of West Burlington.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one infant son.

A memorial has been established for the West Burlington Fire Department.
