             Ella Mae Boltz, 89, of Burlington, Iowa, died Thursday, November 2, 2006, at her residence.

            Born April 30, 1917 in Edina, Missouri, she was the daughter of Charley and Mary Kiesow Baker.  On January 6, 1942 she married George E. Boltz in Edina.  He died July 24, 1968.

            Mrs. Boltz was a 1935 graduate of Edina (Missouri) High School and attended college in Kirksville, Missouri.  She retired in 1988 after 23 years as first deputy to the Des Moines County Recorder.

            Mrs. Boltz was a member of West Burlington United Methodist Church since 1954.  She was a member of the Des Moines County Democratic Committee and inducted into their Hall of Fame in 1988.  Mrs. Boltz was also a member of the Ladies of the Moose, and nominated as an International Co-Worker of the Year in 2003.

            Mrs. Boltz enjoyed dancing, fishing, gardening, cooking and reading.

            Survivors include one daughter, Judy Todd of Plattsmouth, Nebraska; two grandchildren, Kieran (Stefanie) Todd of Plattsmouth and Kristi Todd of LaVista, Nebraska; one great granddaughter, Ireland Ciara Todd; and one sister, Francille Kilbride of Mediapolis, Iowa.

            Her husband; parents; and three brothers, Lorraine Baker, Loyd Baker and Ralph Baker preceded her in death.
