Hazel Marie Allen,
71, of Burlington, formerly Gulfport, Illinois,
died Tuesday, February 14th, 2006 at
her home.
Born July 7,
1934 in Burlington, she was the daughter of Earl
and Edith Bobbitt Myers. She married Albert A.
Smith; he preceded her in death on July 26,
1980. On July 23, 1985 she married Floyd Allen
in Burlington. He died May 6, 1988.
Mrs. Allen
was a home health aide and a door greeter at
Wal-Mart for many years. She was a member of
Four Square Gospel Church. Mrs. Allen enjoyed
gardening, watching the leaves change, looking
at Christmas lights and watching soap operas and
cooking shows.
Survivors
include two daughters, Tammy Denning of West
Burlington and Dora (Dean) Maxwell of
Burlington; two sons, Anthony Myers and Troy
Smith both of Burlington; eleven grandchildren
and two great grandchildren; two sisters,
Barbara Lafferty of Burlington and Patricia
Miller of Stockton, Missouri.
Her two
husbands, parents, five sisters and one brother
preceded her in death
The funeral
service for Mrs. Allen will be Saturday,
February 18th at 10:00 AM at Lunning
Chapel. Pastor Sam Fratt will officiate.
Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday, February 17th,
from 8:00 AM until 8:00 PM in Lunning Chapel,
where the family will receive friends from 6:30
PM until 8:00 PM.
A memorial
has been established in Hazels memory and for
the American Cancer Society.
