     -Funeral Service: Monday, October 30th, 1:30 PM in Lunning Chapel.
        
        -Interment: Aspen Grove Cemetery, Burlington, Iowa
         
The Veterans Honor Guard of VFW Posts 10102 and 9162, American Legion Post 52,
          Hamilton-Walters Marine Corps League and the AMVETS Post 29 will conduct
          Military Rites.

            Clyde “Wayne” Allen, 74, of Burlington, Iowa, died Wednesday, October 25, 2006, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

            Born June 3, 1932 in Burlington, he was the son of Herbert W. and Rose Donahue Allen.  On October 5, 1957 he married Patricia Ann Lowary in Burlington.  She died October 22, 2001.

            Mr. Allen attended West Burlington and Burlington Schools.  He was an Army veteran during the Korean Conflict serving from 1952 until 1954. 

            He was a truck driver and a mechanic for Carl A. Nelson and Co. and had previously worked at Benner Tea Co. among several area companies.

            He was a former member of the Moose, Eagles, A.B.A.T.E. of Iowa, and a member of Sons of the Union Veterans of the Civil War.  He was an avid motorcycle rider, and enjoyed camping, going to Rutledge, Missouri Flea Market, and having coffee with his friends at Perkins and The Hungry Bear. 

            Survivors include his son, Gary W. Allen of Burlington; daughter, Rhonda (Jason) Olnes of West Burlington; two grandchildren, Misty Martin of Burlington and Heather Frost of Mount Pleasant; three great grandchildren, Kyrell, Madisyn and McKenzee; twin brothers, Tim Allen of Swan Creek, Illinois and Jim (Opal) Allen of Burlington.

            His wife; infant daughter; parents; sister, Liz Schwerin; and infant brother, Jack Allen preceded him in death.
