Goldie May Albright

       -Memorial Funeral Service:  Saturday, January 19th, at 1:00 PM in the
         Danville Baptist Church.
         Pastor Rod Cooper will officiate.
         According to Mrs. Albright's wishes, her body has been deeded to science. 
         Memorials have been established for Danville Care Center and Great River Hospice.

                       

              Goldie May Albright, 94, of Danville died at 1:48 p.m. Thursday, January 10, 2008 at Danville Care Center.

            Born December 14, 1913 in Winfield, she was the daughter of William Henry and Alta Pearl Lathrop Eilers.  On May 26, 1933 she married Wyatt Cresap Albright in Monmouth, Illinois.  He preceded her in death on November 14, 1961.

            Mrs. Albright was a graduate of Danville High School.  She was of the Christian faith.

            Mrs. Albright and her husband owned and operated the Conoco Station in Danville for many years; they also owned the Danville Mobile Home Park, and she also worked in the Des Moines County Auditors Office.  Mrs. Albright was the first and only female mayor of Danville.

            She was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary, King’s Daughters and several card clubs in Danville and Burlington.  She loved traveling, playing cards and family reunions.

            Survivors include one sister, Faith (Richard) Cole of New London, several nieces and nephews and one niece who was her special caregiver, Sala Marlin of Burlington.

            Her husband, parents and five sisters preceded her in death.   

           Memorials have been established for Danville Care Center and Great River Hospice.
