The “Guardians of Women Cancer” National Tour of “Pink Heals-Pink Fire Trucks” will be in the City of West Burlington on Thursday, August 16, 2012. The tour will be making home visits across the community for patients that cannot attend the rally. They will have the opportunity to sign the pink trucks and have their photographs taken as well as family and friends. The tour will be visiting other facilities as scheduled throughout the community.
The event will be held at the Community Park, 602 W. Burlington Avenue in West Burlington from 4-8 p.m. There will be health screenings, sports activities, food and beverages during the event. The parade starts at 3:45 p.m. that will travel through town and will arrive at Community Park at 4:00 p.m., many neighboring fire departments will also be involved. The national group will honor all cancer survivors in attendance as well as any individuals that are currently under treatment. Come sign the pink fire trucks with your message and read others from across the country, and feel free to take some pictures with the pink heals fire fighters.
Cancer knows no boundaries; it has affected all of us either by a family member, neighbor, or good friend. Please make a donation in memory of someone special or donate to the rally. Either way helps us in the fight and supports the families in our communities. The year donations will go to:” Bras for the Cause” which provides mammograms and follow up care if needed at no cost to the patients that may not otherwise be able to afford testing.
